We always look forward to summer on Lake Taneycomo. The main reason we do is Family Fishing. There is nothing like seeing a kid, catch that first fish, seeing the look on their face, and knowing they will never forget that fish or the experiences of that day. I think too many times we overcomplicate things.
We watch the weather or news too much, we worry more about equipment than the experience, we overplan and overthink when we should remember to look at fishing through the eyes of a child.
My father passed away last week, and I’ve spent lots of time with my brothers/sisters looking at old pictures and remembering old times. Being the last of 5 kids, Dad was done fishing by the time I came along…and we often joked about that. Mom was the person that took me fishing .. nothing fancy just cane poles on the banks of a bayou. She didn’t make it complicated, I’m sure we took nothing but bait and poles.. no sunscreen, no drinks, no ice….probably didn’t even bother with a stringer… and I don’t remember how many we caught..but I’ll never forget the fishing….
Have a great day on the lake….

sorry on your loss.know what it is to loose your father.
Lamar,
I am so sorry to read that you lost your father last week. I’m sure he was one great Dad. Carolyn and I extend our sympathy to you and your family at this time. You are in our prayers.
Sincerely,
Richard & Carolyn Carter
I would like to begin by offering our condolences on the loss of your father. I lost my father a few years ago and I know how you feel.
I am sure you don’t remember us, but we rented a boat earlier this year after the trout tournament. My wife was the blind woman that you treated so graciously.
We will be in Branson next week and will need a boat for at least a half-day trip.
Look forward to seeing you again and will contact you to arrange the boad. We will probably watch the weather and get it during the week.
Please let me know if one day may be better for you to reserve it..
Thanks!
