We got back from our week off, and were met by lots of folks ready to fish. All the folks that went out Monday said they did well, despite the muddy water left from Saturday’s rain. Spoons, and spinners were working well. One group we had, did nothing but troll, with success.

We hope all are enjoying their Christmas Season. It’s been a great year for us, despite a crazy spring, we’re so Blessed with the Friends that we have made here at the dock. We will be shutting down for Christmas week, to take a little family time together.

Picking up pecans or taking a day trip, stopping on the side of the road to eat some of Mom’s cold fried chicken.. watching folks make syrup…the cotton in the fields. All of these things remind me of Fall. Empire Electric notified us on Thursday that they will begin drawing the lake down at noon tomorrow, to replace the splashboards on Powersite Dam. Expectations are the repair will take all day on Wednesday and they can begin filling the lake up on Thursday.
It will make fishing “VERY” interesting on Wednesday… it will clear the [...]

Starting to see a lot of leaves in the water… color is beginning to look good. Fishing was great over the Columbus Day weekend. Nice Rainbows and starting to get a few browns. I would have to say Nightcrawlers have really picked up in the last few days.
