We have been enjoying a great couple of weeks of Winter fishing on Lake Taneycomo. Last weekend we had numerous large groups, as well as a tournament on the lake, and all had no problem with limits early in the day. Not a lot of HUGE fish, I’ve inclueded a snapshot of Jack, who lives in Branson, and caught this nice 23″ 4.15 lb Rainbow near the 76 bridge. We appreciate Jack photographing and releasing this beautiful Rainbow.

Jigs, Spoons and Crankbaits probably are the most effective artificial lures right now Pink/White Gulp has been the best selling in the plastic baits. Minnows are not doing bad in the live bait category.

Speaking of bridge, a word of caution to boaters, construction has started on the new 76 bridge. You will notice barges this week, and concrete starting to be poured. The Missouri State Water Patrol has granted a permit for 14 Idle Speed No Wake buoys, which will run from 76 bridge to the powerlineswhich are north of the bridge. Use caution as you will also find areas buoyed off as needed for the construction which is expected to last over a year.

Come see us soon..and have a great day on the lake.

Empire informed us today, that after peak power on Saturday, they will begin to draw Lake Taneycomo down, to repair the boards on Powersite Dam. Empire expects to be able to work on Monday , and have the water back on Tuesday, if all goes as planned. Estimated tailwater will be 696.50

The boards on the Powersite dam are used to maintain a safe lake level. In times of Heavy rains, there are often several boards removed to allow more water to flow out of Lake Taneycomo.

Have a great weekend on the Lake…

Veteran’s Day was huge again in Branson this year, and with all the people in town, you could’nt have asked for better weather, or fishing conditions. The calendar is in the favor of the fisherman right now. MDC’s stocking was late in October, and with the early November loads of fish, we are seeing NICE rainbows all up and down the lake.

Steve and I fished the trophy area Tuesday last week, with egg flies and scuds.. we had a good time, and caught several nice rainbows.

We are looking forward to your visit soon… take care gettng here….

We seemed to have the water calmed down from last weeks rain. We are currently running the equivelant of 4 generators, although there are still spillway gates being used so we have ample oxygen for the fish.

Fishing has been best from Short creek up, in my opinion. We’re hoping to see MDC get after the stocking this week, as they have yet to start on Octobers fish, because of scheduling and high water.

The leaves are looking great, and the weather is very nice.. so don’t forget to take some time to cruise the Taneycomo while in Branson. The resorts like Taneycomo Lakefront, Tanglewood, Bluehaven, Lakeshore Resort, Trout Hollow, Ozark Trout, Lilley’s Landing, Cooper Creek Resort and our Lakeside RV park are just brimming with people enjoying fall in the Ozarks

Have a great day on the lake

Well.. it’s been an interesting week for sure. We should see everything settle down from last weeks rain by the end of the weekend. Fishing is still decent, for those that have gone. I will be the first to admit, boating is a little more challenging in this current.

Browns are on the move. Reports of them heading up the ladder were confirmed yesterday by MDC, they were able to spawn I believe 75 of them on Wednesday. One thing this spillway water does, is hurt oxygen levels, so there is another plus for the gates when they are closed.

Fishing for the remainder of the month, with these conditions… will be FABULOUS..

Have a great day on the lake….
