Labor Day Holiday

September 8th, 2009 by lamar
Respond

We saw a bunch of families enjoying Lake Taneycomo over the holiday. We had some pretty muddy water to deal with, Friday’s rain combined with no water generation, encouraged the creek stain to stay around all weekend. Those in boats though, were able to get out into clear water, and catch plenty of fish.

I have folks ask me everyday, when the best time to catch trout is, and I answer the same way, “anyday you want to go”.. and some think there’s a season to our trout..but it’s as good as it gets now, and will be the next few months. Make your plans to come down….. and catch some trout !!!!

Have a great day on the lake..

Fishing this week… it’s HOT

September 5th, 2009 by lamar

Fishing this week has been great. We’ve seen nice size in our catches, and also good quantities… with one group posting 60+ fish … not bad for a days fishing.

We’re getting great results from our Scotty’s Olive/Ginger jig.. 32nd and 16th oz. Gold and GOld Red Buoyant spoons doing well, Little Cleo in Nickel Fire Red, or Gold.

Sunrise continues to be our best selling powerbait, we’re using the 3/16th oz drift rigs. Nightcrawlers are the best in our live bait category.

As the weather is getting cooler, it reminds us all of Fall FIshing.. .. I’m not so sure that we’re not doing as well now as we will then… time will tell.

Posting this picture of the Cotton and Jones group. They were here all week..and had a blast.

Come see us when you can, and have a great day on the lake.

The weather has been awesome !! Water has been running a little all day…. but just enough in the mornings to drift perfectly.

Today … several groups have done well…. we’re seeing a mix of sizes.. lots of 12 plus fish.. mixed in with what I would guess is Neosho stockers.. 8-10’s.

Olive/Ginger jigs.. in 32nd oz or smaller, Pink Micro is also working very well.

Gold / Red Thomas Bouyant, Gold or Gold/Red Little Cleo and Nickel/Red Super Dupers are doing well.

Have not seen a lot of folks using nightcrawlers in the mid lake area… still doing good between Short and Fall Creeks…

Have a great day on the Lake !!!!

Fishing… and by the way the Weather… are GREAT

We’re in a great weather pattern right now…  Supposed to be in the low to mid 50’s this weekend, and then in the 60’s all next week .. with lows like that..how can you not go fishing ????

We’ve been seeing water on most of the day..3-5000 CFS most of the morning..and accelerating in the afternoon. This has made for great drifting water.. most all the day.

Green Jigs, Gold and Gold and Red spoons…. have been working well in lures. Orange and Yellow Gulp in the plastics has been doing well.

Get your reservations..and get down here….

August Fishing

Sorry it’s been a while since I posted….. Got a new laptop a month ago, and just now getting a chance to “move in” . Business and fishing has been great. We’ve enjoyed lots of “Family” fishing over the past few months… and we’ve enjoyed lots of “Satisfied” customers.

Currently, we’re seeing generation in the afternoons mainly. The Beaver Lake drawdown has not increased our waterflow all that much.

Jigs are working well. Ginger/Olive is the best, followed by Ginger, Olive, or white. Nightcrawlers are working well from Coon Creek up to the trophy area. Spoons do well with the Thomas Gold and Red being the best.

Will post more soon.. including new pics… just wanted to get this up, so everyone would know that we are alive and well, and still tending to the website.

Have a great SAFE day on the lake

June Trout Fishing is HOT !!

Pardon the pun… I know the temperature is less than comfortable in the heat of the day right now, but fishing is GREAT. Look at this nice one Ms Lindsey caught on Saturday. It was a great rainbow…  We’re finding all methods are working well…. depending on the time of day. Water is running mostly in the afternoon and off on weekends right now..so plan accordingly.

Come see us soon,

Lamar

Shallow drafting will impress you with the ride… it’s pretty darn smooth

Fishing in June

June 7th, 2009 by lamar
Respond

So far June has been a very good month. We had one boat on Friday that caught 140 (four guys) and had a large group this weekend that told us, this was the best year we’ve had in 15 years of coming here.

All that being said, we are using a little of everything, depending on where and what time of day you are fishing. Early in the am, or late evening, your best bet is Spoons, Jigs or Lures that don’t tend to go very deep.

Later in the day, bottom fishing with Powerbait Gulp, right smack in the middle of the channel, is working well. If water is running you could actually do good off the channel as well.

Olive/Ginger jigs and LIttle Cleos were probably the hottest two lures of the weekend, and the Thomas Colorado spoon was pretty hot this past week as well.

Night crawlers are still a favorite from Fall down to Short Creek… some using minnows ..but not many.

Have a great day on the lake

Fishing this week

Respond

Fishing has been good this week. We’re seeing a water pattern of little generation in the am, increasing in the afternoonl, and off at night.

Jigs have been doing great in the mornings, either olive/ginger, ginger or white. Lures this week have been Trout Magnets, Buoyant Spoons gold red or copper.

Gulp in Pink and Yellow, Orange and Yellow.

The main story is the weather the next 6 days looks great, take advantage of it.

Have a great day on the lake.
